The Optimist Creed

Something beautiful I came across that I feel is worth sharing. One of the most important resources we have is our energy and what we invest our energy in. Are we investing it in things that bring temporary relief only to harm us even more in the future? Or are we thinking of and doing things far more sustainable? Do we even dare to pause and reflect on where our lives are headed? It takes courage. Lots of it. Courage to focus on the things you can change, no matter what the circumstances. Yourself. So many things that I aspire to be and do are condensed in this creed. I think it is going to be my desktop wallpaper for sometime. 🙂

The Optimist Creed was authored in 1912 by Chistian D. Larson, appearing in his book Your Forces and How to Use Them. It was adopted as Optimist International’s creed in 1922. Many have found inspiration in The Optimist Creed. In hospitals, the creed has been used to help patients recover from illness. In locker rooms, coaches have used it to motivate their players.
